The production methods of niobium wire mainly include the following:
Vacuum carbon reduction : In a vacuum carbon tube furnace, the affinity of carbon to oxygen is greater than that of niobium. it uses carbon as a reducing agent to reduce Nb₂O₅ ₅ niobium ₅. It is further processed into niobium filament .
Thermite reduction : The reduction melting reaction is carried out in a vessel without external heating. products are separated and purified, can be processed into niobium filament. This method is simple and easy to use, , but the purity of the product is low, needs to be further purified .
Electrolysis method : includes two methods: molten salt electrolysis and aqueous solution electrolysis. the equipment for producing niobium powder by molten salt electrolysis is simple and the cost is low . is one of the important methods for producing niobium wire .
Chemical vapor deposition (CVD method) : gaseous chemicals are degraded into solid materials under high temperature, is deposited on the surface of niobium powder into niobium filaments by controlling reaction conditions.
